(attached with this email). I apologise if you have already received an
acknowledgement from elsewhere in the Department.

 

The Department will provide its response to your request as soon as
practicable and within twenty working days.  The 20th working day is 23
November 2023.

 

We have interpreted your request:

o I was informed via email that your internal account system "does not
allow symbols and we are unable to change this". This is undoubtedly a
security flaw and I'd love to know why this is.

to mean:

o [Why a system used by the National Library does not require the use of
symbols for the setting of passwords].

If this interpretation is incorrect, please contact me as soon as
possible.
