Sudden deaths responded to by Police
Samantha Bright made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police
Response to this request is long overdue. By law New Zealand Police should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.
From: Samantha Bright
Dear New Zealand Police,
My name is Samantha Bright and I am requesting the total number of deaths in the past year attended to by police please. I am particularly interested in if possible how many units attended, their response times, their time on scene and if St John attended.
I am attempting to study these collaboratively with St John statistics to open a discussion into the potential of a designated unit to free up Police units to attend other jobs.
I appreciate any help on this.
Yours faithfully,
Samantha Bright.

Further information on Sudden deaths, I believe POL 47 is completed with each sudden death unless it is recoded as the death has been signed off by a Doctor. Question is then, How many POL 47 have been completed in this time period, what are the causes of death as stated in the POL47, how many of these sudden deaths went onto post mortem examinations?
