Auckland City Council is listed in the ‘Resource Management (National Environmental Standards for Telecommunications Facilities) Regulations 2016 - Users' guide’ as one of the organisations that provided staff to serve as members of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG). The Users’ guide has an illustration depicting the grey cylinder design and goes into some detail on cluster formations around intersections, among other things. The integration of e-billboards into the clusters is not specifically mentioned however this combination can be found in and around Auckland City currently. As Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU) withheld the lease fee information for their sites I lodged a complaint with the Ombudsman. Subsequent to this Auckland Council reconsidered the request and supplied the following:

We refer to our letter dated 3 August 2023 responding to your earlier request for information regarding tower/pole/light or building mounted sites.
In that response we declined to answer part of your request below:
How long is the lease term for existing sites and what is the average lease fee/ administration fee per site.
We stated:
The fee information is commercially sensitive. TAU has only 4 sites with a telco cellular antennas or satellite on floodlight poles, therefore disclosing even the average fee may potentially jeopardise any future lease negotiations with the suppliers.
Following your complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman, Auckland Council has reconsidered its decision regarding the previously withheld information. At the time TAU were looking at commercial options for telco leases but due to internal changes this is no longer a priority and it is unlikely that there will be any market procurement in the short term future. Therefore disclosing this information will no longer jeopardise future supplier negotiations.
As a result, we have decided to release fee information as below:
• The annual lease fees for TAU sites range from $5,750 to $ 23,000 + GST per annum
• The average lease fee for existing agreements is $11,263 + GST per annum
