OIA request 11 Jan 22 Ombudsman ref 579396
Craig Innes made this Official Information request to Land Information New Zealand
The request was successful.
From: Craig Innes
Tena koe,
I requested the following information on 11 January 2022:
Please supply all speech notes, internal communications (including with Ministers) relating to the presentation by the Registrar General of Land at the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ conference in Beijing.
On 11 March 2022, Land Information New Zealand supplied at large amount of information that was not within the scope of the original request. Within this large collection was one document relevant to the request (the slideshow to accompany the speech), however the main document requested was not supplied; namely the speech notes themselves.
Please note that the requested information was already long overdue when the supply of the unwanted information was made.
To see the request and reply, use the following link:
https://fyi.org.nz/request/18119-rgl-spe...
Please note that the information supplied included many items but did not include the speech notes that had been originally requested. At the request of the Office of the Ombudsman, I am directly pointing out that the key information requested on 11 January 2022 was not supplied.
Naku noa, na,
Craig Innes

Tena koe,
Your reference DOIA 22-115
In your reply you deny that the reply to the Official Information Act 1982 request of 22 January 2022 was delayed. I draw your attention to the fact that I had complained to the Ombudsman about the failure to supply the information in March 2022. Your office has been aware of this complaint since that date.
I note that the supplied speech notes do not appear particularly relevant to the subject of the 'Ease of Doing Business' to a Chinese or international audience.
Naku noa, na,
Craig Innes,
