Auckland bin removal

Jimmy King made this Official Information request to Auckland Council

The request was partially successful.

From: Jimmy King

Dear Auckland Council,

Under the information act I would like to know answers to these questions.

Exactly how much money will be saved from removing bins around Auckland? I do not have time to through the 5 hour meetings or read all the documents, I would rather just ask and know.

Since I'm here, how often do the bins in the Northshore get emptied?

How much does it cost per year to maintain empty those bins?

What is the cost for putting new bins in?

Where do these bins get emptied?

How much does it cost to fix a broken bin?

Why were the particular bins chosen to be removed? What criteria did they meet and what is the criteria to remove a bin? I'm talking about on the northshore.

Yours faithfully,

Jimmy King

Hi Jimmy,

My apologies but, I still do not have sufficient information to be able to
guide your query to an expert within the department. Are you referring to
residential rubbish bins provided to households on the North Shore and
collected weekly, or are you referring to public litter bins found on the
street and parks?

If you are not able to provide further information by email, would it be
possible for me to give you a quick call tomorrow to clarify the matter
you are referring to?

If so, please provide your phone number and we can have a quick chat to
determine the issue.
