I refer to your request of June 14, 2023 for Information about “Manawa
Drive reserve/esplanade”. Your request was referred to our council’s Parks
and Recreation Department for consideration,. Your questions are as
follows:

o Who vested the now manawa drive esplanade/reserve in Ngunguru
o What year was it vested

The following information has been identified in connection with your
request:

The Esplanade reserve comprises 3 lots:

o Lot 18 DP 39121 - the part of the reserve that the library sits on  -
vested in 1952 - much earlier than the other 2 lots.
o Lot 5 DP 90583
o Lot 8 DP 90584

 

Lots 5 DP 90583 and Lot 8 DP 90584 were created by Subdivision 
COU.SD78.1142 P037763.SD

 

We are unable to identify what date the Lots were vested as a reserve.
Both plans show a date of 18.02.1983 as below.

The applicants of COU.SD78.1142  were L.P. AND C.J. BARRELL, NGUNGURU.

 

The following comment is noted on the application: “Lot 7, the bush
reserve; and lot 8, esplanade reserve are offered for reserves
contribution in full satisfaction of the present and future reserves
requirements for all the land contained in lots 1 -6. (from Reyburn and
Bryant’s 26.06.1978 letter of application for the subdivision.)

The material represents our best efforts to locate relevant material.

broad scope of your request it is possible that there may be other items
of relevance that have unintentionally been missed in the search.
