Could you please respond with the following statistics:

Your request for official information below refers.

The purpose of this email is to acknowledge receipt of your request and advise which of the information you have requested is available for supply.

Information in regard to the breakdown of the total costs incurred and time taken when processing each standard import entry, simplified import entry, and private import declaration will need to be refused under section 18(f) of the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) as the information requested cannot be made available without substantial collation or research. This applies whether the information is requested for 1 or 10 years.

Details relating to the number of standard import entries, simplified import entries, and private import declarations processed for the years 2004 - 2014 are available for supply. Section 15 of the OIA provides for charges to be levied for providing information. The charge is $38.00 (GST Incl.)per ½ hour after the first hour. The section also provides for the whole or part of any charge to be paid in advance.

It is expected that your request will take two hours to process making the cost $76.00 (GST Incl.)

Please confirm that you accept the cost and arrangements will be made for prepayment and the supply of the information. If you provide full name and contact details, arrangements can be made for the payment to be made once the information has been supplied.

Our formal response will include your rights pursuant to section 28(3) of the OIA (Functions of Ombudsmen) in regard to the withholding of information.

Your request for information dated 2 December 2014 and my response of  5
December refer.  

 

You will be aware that in terms of section 15(1) of the Act, the recipient
of the request shall, as soon as reasonably practicable, and in any case
not later than 20 working days after the day on which the request is
received provide a decision on the request. 

 

As your request was received on 2 December 2014 the decision is due out on
or before 21 January 2015.

 

I am unaware of you having responded to my email dated 5 December 2014. 

 

If Customs has not received a response by close of business on 21 January
2015, your request will be considered withdrawn and  the file closed.
