Dear University of Otago,

Please provide the following information for domestic category applicants (excluding sub-categories) relating to admission into the MBChB and BDS programs at the University of Otago entry into 2022. As it relates to sitting the UCAT in 2021 for admission for 2022 via HSFY general Category.

Where the UCAT was used as a threshold for admission:

(scores in the top 80% met the threshold) What was the minimum mark accepted?

1) If Situational Judgement threshold set above the bottom 10th percentile (scores in the top 89% met the threshold) What was the minimum mark accepted?

The 2021 UCAT Threshold for 2 of the 5 sections for BDS
For entry to the 2022 BDS programme, the thresholds were set as follows:

I refer to your information request dated 6 December 2022 made under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).

The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the date your request was received. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit. We are therefore writing to notify you, pursuant to section 15A of the Act, of an extension of the time to make our decision in respect of your request, by a further 5 working days - to Thursday 26 January 2023. However, we will endeavour to provide the information sooner if possible.

This extension is necessary because (i) your request necessitates a manual search through a large quantity of student data and (ii) to allow for consultations necessary to make a decision on your request.

We apologise for the delay and thank you for your patience.

If you are not satisfied with our extension of time, you have the right to make a complaint to the Ombudsman under section 28(3) of the Act. However, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss any concerns with you first.

Ngā mihi
Kelsey
