Good afternoon Chris,

I refer to your request dated 29/09/2022. We hold the information that you
are requesting up to 25 November 2021, as the information for this year
has not yet been transcribed to be electronic.

 

We can provide raw data in the form of an excel spreadsheet that shows
Age, Date of Burial, and Cemetery (we have no breakdown of Body Burial or
Ashes). This information can be made available within the first free hour
of staff time, after which Waitaki District Council reserves the right to
charge for time taken,  under Section 13.1(a) of the LGOIMA Act 1987.

The information for December 2021 – September 2022 is not yet available in
our electronic database so to provide this would take a minimum of 2 days
maybe longer depending on the quantity of burials during this time; to
digitise and a cost will apply for this. It is intended that the
electronic database will be updated early December and this information
for the remaining months will be available then, this would be at no
charge and to be if the requester is open to getting the information as
raw data in a spreadsheet.

Please advise if the raw data for the year date range of years 2010 to
2021 will suffice or whether you wish to proceed with the request as it
stands.

Council Officers have reviewed your request and have collated the answers
and attached documents in response.

 

Please find attached the raw data cemetery information compiled from the
information provided by the Sexton Reports and input into the on-line
Cemetery Search on WDC website as well as aerial photos. All the
Cemeteries have maps on the WDC Website [1]Cemetery search and maps |
Waitaki District Council should you wish to view the layout of each –
failing that, google maps with the locations will also give the aerials
requested.
