Dear Saska,
Thank you for your email to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and
Employment on 17 August 2022 requesting under the Official Information Act
1982 the following information:

Due to the amount of material encompassed in the scope of your request,
this part of your request is likely to be refused in reliance on section
18(f) of the Act as that the information requested cannot be made
available without substantial collation. This decision has not yet been
made, and we would like to consult you about narrowing the scope of your
request before doing so. In particular, could you please confirm whether
references to ‘Any documents, correspondence’ could be refined to specific
categories, for example, documents to the Minister, correspondence between
MBIE and specific person/agency etc.?
Can you please respond by 30 August 2022 and confirm if you would like to
refine the scope of your request? If we do not receive a response by this
date, we will proceed without rescoping.
Please note any clarification or amendment of a request is considered to
be a new request for the purpose of calculating the maximum statutory
timeframe for response (see section [15(1AA) of the Act).

Any documents, correspondence and advisory documents that were used make
the recommendations provided in the cabinet decision released on 5 August 2022 named "Resettling Afghan evacuees – settlement support, COVID-19 and considering options to extend our response (Ministry of Business Innovation & Employment, August 2022) - Office of Honurable Michael Wood.
If this has to be treated as a new OIA request, separate from the request submitted late August 2022, please do so however we would appreciate if we could have this information as soon as possible.

I am writing to advise you that MBIE has decided to extend the time
available to respond to your request under s15A(1)(a) and s15A(1)(b) of
the Act as the request necessitates a search through a large quantity of
information, and to carry out consultations. As such a proper response to
the request cannot be made within the original time limit.
MBIE’s response will be sent to you no later than 27 October 2022.
However, we will respond to you sooner if we are able to.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of
this decision, in accordance with section 28(3) of the Act. Information
about how to make a complaint is available at
