Decision to deselect Richard Jackson for head of CPCVE on basis of his opposition to genocide

Ali Anwar made this Official Information request to Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet

The request was partially successful.

From: Ali Anwar

Dear DPMC,

A NZ Herald article recently revealed that the well-regarded Professor Richard Jackson of the National Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies was considered the top-flight candidate to lead the Centre for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism before secret machinations sabotaged his position. Professor Jackson has, in the past, openly expressed opposition to zionist terrorist operations including their deliberate bombings of civilian targets in Lebanon and Palestine and I understand this was considered to be offensive by various zionist infiltrators who were allowed to be involved in the selection process.

I seek;
1- all communications within DPMC around the selection of Professor Jackson from 1 February 2022 onwards to the current day.
2- all communications with outside parties, particularly including terrorist lobby groups like the Israel Institute of New Zealand, regarding the appointment of Professor Jackson. This should extend from the point at which the establishment of the Centre for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism began to be considered to the current day.

Yours faithfully,
Ali Anwar
(Islamic Centre Against Genocide and Extremism)
