Web Accessiblity

Mr Maddison made this Official Information request to Department of Internal Affairs

Department of Internal Affairs did not have the information requested.

From: Mr Maddison

Dear Department of Internal Affairs,

Changes to the DIA.govt.nz website results in high levels of inaccessibility. Using WAVE, the front page alone contains some 36 errors and 151 warnings.

- As the government agency accountable for NZ's web accessibility standards (via the CDO / digital.govt.nz) why is it acceptable for the DIA not to adhere to its own policies?
- What plans does DIA have in place to ensure it follows its own web standards policies?
- What is the current state of compliance of all Public Service agencies' websites to the NZ web standards - https://www.digital.govt.nz/standards-an... ?
NOTE: this request is unrelated to OIA21/22-0328
- What, if any, DIA BAU work programmes exist to ensure agencies' compliance with the standards? Are there defining documents that set out their 2022/23 objectives, priorities and measures?
- What is the title of the person responsible for government websites, the content and accessibility?

Yours faithfully,

Mr Maddison

Dear Department of Internal Affairs,

I have reconsidered this request, as overly broad, and will resubmit a request with a narrower scope.

Yours faithfully,

Mr Maddison
