Kia ora,

On behalf of Hon Kris Faafoi, thank you for your email.

While the Minister considers all correspondence to be important, and all
messages are carefully read and considered, it is not always possible to
personally reply to all emails.  As such, the following guidelines apply:

·        Invitations and meeting requests will be processed as soon as
possible and a staff member will be in contact with you in due course

·        All media queries will be responded to by a staff member

·        Requests for official information will be managed in accordance
with the provisions of the Official Information Act 1982, which may
include transfer to a more relevant Minister or agency

·        If your email falls outside of the Minister’s portfolio
responsibilities, expresses a personal view, or is copied to multiple
Members of Parliament, then your opinion will be noted and your
correspondence may be transferred to another office, or there may be no
further response to you

Thank you for the taking the time to write.

Nga mihi,

Office of Hon Kris Faafoi

Minister of Justice, Minister of Immigration, Minister for Broadcasting
and Media

Kia ora Athina,

We are unsure of what advertisement you are referring to. Could you please provide further details (including where this was published) so that your query can be directed to the correct place. It should also be noted that information relating to advertisements about COVID-19 and vaccination are not the responsibility of the Office for the Minister for Broadcasting and Media. Instead these details would most likely be held by Health agencies. Therefore, if you could clarify which ad you are referring to, we can assist further.

Dear Broadcasting,
It is an ad shown on TV3 on demand. As I'm unable to attach the link this is the gist of the ad verbatim "Even if you've had covid-19, getting vaccinations and boosters provide better protection than any immunity that comes after being infected with the virus......."

Yours sincerely,

Athina Andonatou

Kia ora Athina,

Based on the information you provided, it is still not clear who the responsible agency is for this advertisement. There are several Government departments who may have created the advert you refer to. As noted, information relating to advertisements about COVID-19 and vaccination are not the responsibility of the Office for the Minister for Broadcasting and Media. Instead these details would most likely be held by Health agencies. However, we do not have sufficient information to transfer your request to an agency which is usually what would occur in these instances, based on the information below. You may wish to contact the below agencies to inquire further:
- Ministry of Health: [email address]
- Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet: [email address]

If you do have any further information on this request (perhaps a screenshot) then this Office, could assist further. However, at present we consider that we have responded to your request as best as possible. You have a right to make a complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman about this response.
