Mandatory vaccination for construction workers on your site
Sapoa Rimoni made this Official Information request to Ministry of Health
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Sapoa Rimoni to read recent responses and update the status.
From: Sapoa Rimoni
Dear Ministry of Health,
With the mandates being removed for many industries and only applied to a few groups like health workers and contractors providing services to vulnerable people. Do you still require your construction contractors to be fully vaccinated to do construction work on isolatade areas on site?
Does your contractor induction have vaccinations as a requirement for any type of contractor entering your site? Have you considered the vast discipline of trades that complete work for all the DHB's.
Is it legal for you to ask construction contractors and requiring them to be vaccinated with the current legislation in place?
Yours faithfully,
SR

Tçnâ koe Sapoa,
Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the
Act) on 27 April 2022 for information relating to mandatory vaccination
for construction workers on district health board (DHBs) sites. Please
find a response to your request below.
“With the mandates being removed for many industries and only applied to
a few groups like health workers and contractors providing services to
vulnerable people. Do you still require your construction contractors to
be fully vaccinated to do construction work on isolated areas on site?

Is it legal for you to ask construction contractors and requiring them
to be vaccinated with the current legislation in place?”
The Ministry of Health (the Ministry) does not have mandates for
construction workers. The Ministry is currently looking to refine the
people determined by the Vaccination Order who work in the vicinity of
healthcare workers, such as a tradesperson who may be required to do work
in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

the health and disability sector can be found at:
