I refer to your request of 25 February 2022 for the following information:

1. Internal emails leading up to and after the protest.

2. Emails and text exchanges with other government agencies leading up to
and after the protest. Including Jacinda Adern and her office.

3. Guidelines/procedures/advice given to police officers for the treatment
of protesters on the harbour bridge.

4. Any documentation related to deciding to allow/escort the protestors
across the bridge and not prevent them from illegally walking on a
motorway.

5. Details on any warnings or arrests made at the protest.

Police has received a large number of Official Information Act 1982 (OIA)
requests relating to the protest activity at Parliament and we remain
committed to meeting our obligations under the OIA. However, as key
personnel remain committed to the operation it is necessary for Police to
extend the time limit under section 15A(1)(b) as the consultations
necessary to make a decision on your request are such that a proper
response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the original time
limit.

Police requires until 27 May 2022 to provide a substantive response to
your request. If it is possible to provide the information to you ahead of
this new deadline, every effort will be made to do so.

You have the right, under section 28(3) of the OIA, to make a complaint to
an Ombudsman about this extension.

If you wish to discuss any aspect of your request with us, including this
decision, please feel free to contact
[1][email address].
