The number of still birth registrations from 2009 to 2019 was:

Please note that 2018 and 2019 data is provisional.

 

While there is a legal requirement to register a still birth, a
miscarriages does not need to be reported anywhere.  We do receive some
information from hospitalisation data but not all miscarriages will
involve hospitalisation so this is unlikely to reflect the true picture.

 

The number of publicly funded hospital discharges with a  primary
diagnosis of Spontaneous Abortion (ICD-10 code O03) by financial year
were:

I’d note that this potentially includes both still births and
miscarriages, and people hospitalized multiple times (transfers,
readmissions, multiple incidents) are counted each time.
