CCTV cameras on State Highway 11

Andrew Riddell made this Official Information request to New Zealand Transport Agency

New Zealand Transport Agency did not have the information requested.

From: Andrew Riddell

Dear New Zealand Transport Agency,

In the last few months several CCTV cameras have been installed along State Highway 11, including at the intersections with English Bay Road/Franklin Street, Oramahoe Road, and Nautical Drive.

Recently small signs were erected beside each camera indicating that the cameras were installed and are operated by Vision Paihia

I request the following
- a copy of the application by Vision Paihia to New Zealand Transport Agency for permission to erect and operate the cameras along the State Highway,
- all reports, assessments and communications by New Zealand Transport Agency to Vision Paihia and any other parties related to the processing of the application to install cameras at selected locations along State Highway 11.

I confirm that I am a New Zealand citizen and resident.

This request is a followup to a November 2021 request about these CCTV cameras. In response to that earlier request, NZTA advised that it was not aware of the cameras being installed. The signage referred to above was erected soon after that response.

Yours faithfully,

Andrew Riddell

Surprising that Waka Kotahi does not know or care what extra structures and things people are putting alongside state highways.
