Auckland DHB COVID-19 home isolation performance

Harold made this Official Information request to Auckland District Health Board

The request was successful.

From: Harold

Dear Auckland District Health Board,

I would like to make a request relating to Auckland District Health Board’s performance in providing care to COVID-19 cases in community isolation.

The Ministry of Health guideline “Managing COVID-19 in the community” published on the Ministry website earlier this month states that it is one of the responsibilities of district health boards providing care for COVID-19 cases in community isolation to ensure “adequate daily reporting on risk and performance” is submitted to the Ministry of Health.

I request copies of all such daily reporting produced by Auckland District Health Board, dated since the beginning of this month.

Yours faithfully,

Harold

Dear Harold

Re: Official Information Request – Auckland DHB COVID-19 home isolation performance

I am writing to acknowledge your official information request dated 22 November 2021.

We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible and, in any event, no later than 20 December 2021. We will contact you if an extension is required.

“Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic response, Auckland DHB continues to experience significantly higher volumes of requests for information. Many key Auckland DHB and Auckland Regional Public Health Service staff are currently committed to tasks associated with the current COVID-19 outbreak. This will invariably impact on our ability to respond to certain OIA requests within normal timeframes.

If you have any questions about management of OIA during the COVID pandemic you may find it helpful to read the following from the Office of the Ombudsman https://smex12-5-en-ctp.trendmicro.com:4...

Please note that, like other DHBs across New Zealand, Auckland DHB has adopted a model of proactive disclosure which sees OIA responses publically available on our website approximately one month after they have been released. If you believe that there are any special reasons why proactive disclosure should not apply to our response to you, we will be happy to consider this.

Kind regards
Priscilla

Could we have a conversation about Question 3 in your OIA of 17 January
regarding the CIQ Clinical Governance Group?

The scope of this is large the group and its support staff advise me that
they may have to estimate just how substantive a collation task it is
before proceeding any further. Are you prepared to fund the cost of
collation or would it be better to narrow the scope and focus on reports
and remove or the advice and memos part of this somewhat?

Happy for your to phone me or give me a number I can phone you on.

Kia ora Mark,

Thanks for following up. I'm fine with narrowing the CIQ Clinical Governance Group part of my request to be for reports only as you've suggested, and remove the request for advice and memos. So the refined version of this part of my request would be:

"For the CIQ Clinical Governance Group I would like to request:

1) A copy of the group’s terms of reference
2) Copies of the minutes of all meetings since the group's formation
3) Copies of all reports produced by this group since its formation"

Let me know if this works.

Yours sincerely,

Harold
