Tēnā koe Nic,

I refer to your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA),
dated 22 November 2021 for information concerning systems and processes
implemented since the 2017 Web Standards Self-Assessment Report.

You requested:

a)      Are you able to supply what systems/processes have been
implemented in regards to the education, monitoring and evaluation of your
inward and outward-facing websites since your 2017 Web Standards
Self-Assessment that was submitted to the Department of Internal Affairs
(DIA).

b)      Are you able to supply a complete list of subdomains/domains
currently managed by Manatū Taonga.

Manatū Taonga is able to provide information in response to point b) of
your request, we will shortly send through a list of the domains and
subdomains currently managed by Manatū Taonga.

However the remainder of your request, as it currently stands, is likely
to require substantial collation and research, which would unreasonably
interfere with the operations of the Ministry. Under these grounds, we may
need to consider a refusal in relation to this portion of your request.

You’re under no obligation, but letting us know the reason behind your
request or what information you’re most interested in can sometimes assist
us to re-scope your request.

If you have any further questions or would like to discuss re-scoping part
of your request, please feel free to contact us at [email address].

Dear MCH,

The reason behind my request is that you have become a significant distributor of cultural funds, and so ensuring all New Zealanders can access this information is imperative in ensuring equity. In two of your funds focused around access, you've acknowledged - little, to no engagement with communities that face barriers, in the scoping/development of the funds.

I'm trying to identify if my concerns that ableism is systemic across your organisation are valid.

What steps you've taken since 2017 to ensure you comply with the NZ Govt Web Accessibility and Usability standards effective: 1 July 2019, would help dispel these assumptions and put me at ease that you are capable of culturally representing all New Zealanders, or taking steps in order to do so.

Yours sincerely,

Nic Lane [he/him]
