Rates, due to covid

Janine Tait made this Official Information request to Whangarei District Council

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Janine Tait to read recent responses and update the status.

From: Janine Tait

Dear Whangarei District Council,

As a resident that has chosen not to receive a Covid-19 vaccine, I understand that I will be denied access to certain local amenities such as gyms, pools, libraries etc.

Can you please provide
(1) a full list of council funded public amenities that will require proof of vaccination as a condition of entry

(2) the proportion of my council rates attributed to those amenities.

If I am to be denied access to such amenities, I need to be able to calculate the appropriate rates reduction.

Yours faithfully,
Janine Tait

Tena koe Karyn Coll,

I refer to your request of 22 November 2021 asking about council amenities that require proof of vaccination. Your request was referred to Council's Democracy and Assurance department for consideration.

There are currently no council facilities that require proof of vaccination as a condition of entry. Council has not yet made a decision on whether any facilities may require proof of vaccine in the future.

I hope this information is of some assistance in responding to your request. If you believe we have not responded appropriately to your request, you have the right by way of complaint, under section 27(3) of the Act, to apply to the Ombudsman to seek an investigation and review of the decision.

Kind regards
Emily
