NZVCC legal fees

K Roe (Account suspended) made this Official Information request to Ministry of Education

The request was refused by Ministry of Education.

From: K Roe (Account suspended)

Dear Ministry of Education,

The judgment of Isac J as to costs associated with Roe v NZVCC was $17,686 in costs and
disbursements of $95.65.

I am wondering how much in external counsel legal fees Chapman Tripp required the NZVCC to pay to defend Chris Whelan in court.

I believe the NZVCC is required to answer as this is taxpayer's money that results from internal complaints not being resolved from within the organization.

Else. if Chris Whelan was covered by liability insurance or if he paid the legal fees out of his salary...

Yours faithfully,

K Roe
