Dear Ministry of Health,
As of 2013, the ACE programme used by DHBs to hire hospital doctors into PGY1 positions has excluded doctors in the NZREX pathway for registration from its eligibility criteria.
1. I would like to know the nature of the decision-making body behind ACE. Please make available the name of the institutions implicated, as well as of the name of any board members or consultants involved.
2. I would like to read all communications between any institutions and individuals involved with the ACE matching system, leading to the decision to exclude NZREX doctors from the programme's eligibility criteria.

The response to my enquiry is delayed as, by law, it was due on July 2nd 2014. I hereby urge you to make it available as soon as possible as more than 40 New Zealanders are currently in a dire situation due to this issue.
