Aviation Offences

Dan Rowland made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Dan Rowland to read recent responses and update the status.

From: Dan Rowland

Dear New Zealand Police,

I am seeking information about prosecutions carried out by Police for Offences under the Civil Aviation Act 1990. This is a specific request to Police to understand what involvement, if any, Police have in prosecuting these Offences and so I ask that it be answered and not transferred to the Civil Aviation Authority.

1. Has New Zealand Police prosecuted ANY Offences under the Civil Aviation Act in the past two calendar years (2019 and 2020)?

2. If so, how many?

3. If possible, please break these down by charge.

4. Does New Zealand Police have any manual or procedure for investigating and laying charges under the Civil Aviation Act (similar to the behavioural Offences chapter, for example). If so, please provide a copy.

5. If not covered, does New Zealand Police have any manual for investigating behavioural Offences that occur on airports or aircraft.

Yours faithfully,

Daniel
