Statutory or Regulatory Authority to Breach Noise Restrictions for Maintenance Work
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for H Smith to read a recent response and update the status.
From: H Smith
Kia ora KiwiRail,
I reside in a property that is contiguous with train tracks operated by KiwiRail. Maintenance workers are routinely instructed to complete work on the train tracks from hours spanning between 11 pm and 4 am. This maintenance work clearly breaches the noise restrictions that apply to everyone else, and impacts the sleep of those in the area.
I therefore request information concerning whether KiwiRail has statutory or regulatory authority to breach noise restrictions for maintenance work.
