Covid Alert Levels
Jason McIntosh made this Official Information request to Ministry of Health
The request was partially successful.
From: Jason McIntosh
Dear Ministry of Health,
Looking at your enforced Covid Alert Levels , I realise that you have no ‘Alert Level Zero .’ Is this an obvious sign that the Government is planning to renew its ‘Temporary Emergency Health Response Powers’ indefinitely?
Yours faithfully, j McIntosh
From: Covid19 Response [DPMC]
[IN-CONFIDENCE]
Kia ora Mr McIntosh,
The Alert Level framework is determined by the Government and specifies
the public health and social measures to be taken in the fight against
COVID-19.
The measures may be updated based on new scientific knowledge about
COVID-19, information about the effectiveness of control measures in New
Zealand and overseas, or the applications of Alert Levels at different
times.
As the pandemic situation constantly evolves alert levels ensure the
public’s health and safety remains paramount.
The reference to ‘Temporary Emergency Health Response Powers’ is a matter
for Ministry of Health to respond to.
