Permanent External Advisory Committee

john luke made this Official Information request to Otago Polytechnic

The request was successful.

From: john luke

Dear Otago Polytechnic,

I noted on your website,

https://www.op.ac.nz/about-us/governance...

May I ask who are you current members of your Permanent External Advisory Committee and their bio if available. Any of conflict of interest they have each registered on file. Also, what is your selection process for this Permanent External Advisory Committee and where do you call for public applications?

I noted " The meeting schedule for the year is to be confirmed by 31 March at the latest. A schedule for each year is stored in T¯uhono team Learner Experience https://www.op.ac.nz/hub/teams/learner-e... Ideally, meetings for the following year should be set at the last meeting of the year."

May I kindly request the full meeting minutes from 1st January 2019 to now.

Yours faithfully,

john luke

·       I am acknowledging receipt of your request under the Official
Information Act:

·       for current members of our Permanent External Advisory Committee
(PEAC).

·       their bio if available.

·       any of conflict of interest they have each registered on file.

·       the selection process for this Permanent External Advisory
Committee

·       whether public applications are invited

·       the full meeting minutes from 1st January 2019 to now

The PEAC  policy
[1]https://www.op.ac.nz/about-us/governance...
requires in clause  5 that  There must be a PEAC for every programme, but
PEACs can have oversight of more than one programme. Within these
parameters, it is a matter for the existing PEACs to determine whether
more PEACs should be created or existing PEACs disbanded or amalgamated.

This means that we do have over 20 PEACs. Do you require the requested
information for each of these PEACs?

Our response to your request is due on or before Tuesday 12 October 2021.

Nga mihi

Sue Thompson

Kia ora John
Our response to your OIA request is attached which includes the PEAC details and minutes as requested for Social Services and Applied Management . You will note that English Languages and Foundation Learning do not have PEACs as such however regular input from stakeholders is sought for these programmes which lead to a New Zealand qualification. The reason for not having PEACs is because the main purpose of these programmes is for successful learners to staircase into higher level programmes which in turn will lead to work. This means that key stakeholders are the higher level programmes and other community agencies committed to individuals' development . My apologies for listing these areas as having a PEAC.
Do get in touch if you have any further queries .
