I refer to your request in which you asked for the "Homicide" chapter of
the police manual.You have stated that you are a NZ citizen and resident
in New Zealand. However section 12(1) of the Official Information Act 1982
states that:

"Any person, being—

(a)A New Zealand citizen; or (b)A permanent resident of New Zealand; or
(c)A person who is in New Zealand; or (d)A body corporate which is
incorporated in New Zealand; or (e)A body corporate which is incorporated
outside New Zealand but which has a place of business in New Zealand,—may
request a Department or Minister of the Crown or organisation to make
available to him or it any specified official information".

I have been asked to request that you provide a postal address, phone
number, or documentation to show you satisfy section 12 of the Official
Information Act. This may be emailed to me at this police email address.

 

Police will then prepare a response to your information request.

I recieved a letter in reply to my request for information, outling the charge involved, a bit more than $2000 for an estimated 40 hours work printing and redacting about 300 pages of homicide manual. The first hour of work would be free.

Thank you for your help, and I won't be proceeding with this request.
