    Tçnâ koe Ed,

Thank you for your email of 24 July 2021 to the Ministry of Education
 requesting the following information:

 1. release all documents and emails around the current review of ITE in
new zealand. This should include all materials sent to Ministers as
 well as all documents.

Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982
 (the Act).

We would like to invite you to clarify a few points of your request to
assist us in providing you a more meaningful response.

Currently, the information you have requested would require substantial
collation, as there are many documents and emails relating to ITE.  Could
you please be more specific about the information you’re looking for, or
the specific review of ITE you’re referring to.

It could also help to clarify the request if you only wanted to receive
advice provided to the minister, if you only wanted to request documents
around a review of ITE or, if you could provide a specific timeframe for
the information you are looking for.

Would you like to amend your request in any way to allow us to provide a
 more meaningful response?

Please note, any clarification or amendment of a request is considered to
be a new request for the purpose of calculating the maximum statutory
timeframe for response—see section 15(1AA) of the Act.

We look forward to hearing from you. Once we receive your clarification,
we will commence work on your request.

    Dear Dion
Thank you for the letter.
I understand that a review of ITE currently underway. I would like to understand the scope and purpose of that review. Do you have a workplan or similar document that sets out the aim, scope, purpose and goals of this review and also the timelines for its completion.
I assume that this work is being carried out with the teaching council. I would like to see anything you have around a joitn scope of work and shared responsibilities
I would also like to see all recent correspondence between the Minister and Ministry on ITE. I could not see anything in your website under recent advice.
Let me know if that helps?

Thanks for your email in regards to your Official Information Act (OIA)
 request of 6 August 2021.

Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act.

Question 1. Please release paper 1265021 as posted on your website about
discretionary hours. The pdf link is not available.

On 9 August 2021, we provided the below link in answer to this question.

[1]https://assets.education.govt.nz/public/....

Question 2. Please also confirm if the ministry has done any data
analytical work that links primary school performance with ncea results. I
guess you might have used nsns to track ncea performance of students who
attended different primary schools. I would be really interested to see if
have done any work comparing which primary schools provide better long run
prep for ncea than others. I am only thinking about primary schools here,
 not secondary.

On 19 August 2021, we provided a full response to question two which was
subsequently uploaded to the FYI website at the following
 [2]https://fyi.org.nz/request/16332-two-req....

As your request for information has been responded to in full we have
closed your request as we have fulfilled our obligations under the
official Information Act. We do, however, remain open to considering a
refined request.  Please note that should you choose to submit an amended
or refined request this will be considered a new request for the purposes
of calculating the maximum statutory timeframe for response.

Thank you again for your email.  You have the right to ask an Ombudsman to
review this decision.  You can do this by writing to
[3][email address] or Office of the Ombudsman, PO Box 10152,
 Wellington 6143.

Ngā mihi
