    Dear University of Auckland,
Correction on the previous request due to a typo.
I stated:
"Please provide the following information for domestic general entry to the Bachelor of Pharmacy programme at the University of Auckland for 2015 - 2021 (six consecutive years)."
The corrected paragraph should be:
"Please provide the following information for domestic general entry to the Bachelor of Optometry programme at the University of Auckland for 2015 - 2021 (seven consecutive years)."
Yours faithfully,
Luke Wang

    Dear Luke Wang,

I refer to your requests for 2015-2021 admissions information for the
University’s Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Optometry, Bachelor of
Medical Imagining (Honours), and Master of Audiology programmes. In
accordance with section 18A of the Act, the University has treated your
four requests for admissions information as a single request for the
purposes of section 18(f) of the Act.

The information requested in parts 5-7 of these requests, the lower
quartile GPA, median GPA and upper quartile GPA, is not held by the
University, and these parts of your requests are refused under section
18(g) of the Official Information Act.

Parts 1-4 and 8 of your requests, as currently framed, cannot be made
available without substantial collation or research. The admissions data
for the Master of Audiology programme in particular would be time
consuming to provide as it involves a different process than our
undergraduate programmes. Unless your requests are amended, the University
may have to refuse them under section 18(f) of the Official Information
Act, which applies where the information cannot be made available without
 substantial collation or research.

Please let us know before 9 July 2021 whether you are willing to amend
your request, and if so, how. The University would grant a request for the
last three years of requested data for the Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor
of Optometry, Bachelor of Medical Imaging (Honours) and one year of
requested data for the Master of Audiology (excluding the requests in
parts 5-7, which have been refused).

You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
 dissatisfied with this response.

Yours sincerely,
Rebecca Ewert
General Counsel
University of Auckland

    Dear Luke,

I refer to your requests as amended for admissions information relating to
the University’s Bachelor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Optometry, and Bachelor
of Medical Imaging (Honours) programmes. The information requested is
attached. Some of your requests for the specific scores of individual
applications have been provided as ranges rather than precise values under
section 9(2)(a) of the Official Information Act, to protect the privacy of
 the applicants concerned.

I note that the University had earlier refused your request for quartile
and median GPA data, on the basis that it was not held. However, that data
has since been created for the Bachelor of Medical Imaging (Honours).
Accordingly we have decided to provide it to you with the other data
 requested (see attached).

You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
 dissatisfied with this response.
