Dear Auckland Council,

I sent an email to you weeks ago about getting some property data but I did not get a reply so I came here.

Could you please send me the following property data? Thank you very much.

1. Auckland property transactions data from 2000 to 2021.
2. Auckland DVR data from 2000 to 2021.

I have seen the above data and they are collected and organised as per Rating Valuations Rules 2008 (https://www.linz.govt.nz/regulatory/30300).

I am a researcher at the University of Auckland. My colleague and I are thinking about doing a study and the data are important for us.

I have been advised you are wanting to obtain data for a university study.

 

In order to supply this we will require a letter from the university
advising they support the study you are undertaking and a NDA to be
signed.

 

I’ve attached a copy of the NDA along with our data dictionary advising
what data we have on hand to supply.

Thank you very much for your help.

I have sent a request to my university to prepare for the letter. Once I have it, I will send it to you.

Just three more questions about the data. How many times the data are updated each year? When do you update the data? (e.g. every May?? every June??) If I get the data right now, the latest transactions are in which month? (April 2021?? May 2021??)

Great. It is a live database so data is updated daily when valuers change it.

The values are based on market conditions as at 1 July 2017 - they will be updated to an effective date of 1 July 2021 in November. Our sales data files are about 2 weeks behind the current date - and are only loaded when the sales have settled.
