Christchurch City Council
Dear Terry,
I refer to your request for information on 21 June.
I want all communications, reports, notes, agendas, meeting attendance
lists, minutes, advice and decision documents relating to the Speak Up for
Women event planned for June at Christchurch Library or any other council
owned or operated location. This should include any information made,
sent, received, or commissioned by council staff and/or councillors.
For the avoidance of doubt, this should also include but not be limited to
notes of all phone calls, meetings, any text messages, emails, instant
messages, notes in note books or any other medium or form, and phone logs.
Council Response
The information the Council holds on this issue is attached. To assist the
information has been divided into two files:
Decision - all information about the decision to decline the Speak Up for
Women (SUFW) event on 1 June.
Complaints and Requests - all the information subsequent to the decision.
Please note staff have endeavoured to separate the two documents but there
is some crossover. A number of duplicate emails have been removed from
both files as best possible, however, there is still a number of duplicate
emails provided.
The Council has decided to withhold personal details under the following
section of the LGOIMA - 7(2)(a) - protect the privacy of natural persons.
This includes the details of complainants, requestors and Council staff
below a unit manager level.
In the Council's view the reasons for withholding these details are not
outweighed by public interest considerations in section 7(1) favouring
their release.
You have the right to request the Ombudsman to review this decision.
Complaints can be sent by email to [1][email address], by fax
to (04) 471 2254, or by post to The Ombudsman, PO Box 10152, Wellington
6143.
Kind regards,
Sean Rainey
