Kaiwharawhara station closure

Rutger Keijser made this Official Information request to Wellington Regional Council

The request was successful.

From: Rutger Keijser

Dear Wellington Regional Council,

Today the Dominion Post website posted an article under the header 'Kaiwharawhara train station overbridge stairs relocated'.
Last year, the Greater Wellington Regional Council decided to close the station and demolish the 'heavily corroded overbridge'. According to another article in the Dominion Post structural enineers said the overbridge is beyond repair.
According to the Dominion Post, Regional Council spokeswoman Philippa Lagan has now stated the stairways remain structurally sound and would be relocated.

Could I please receive a copy of the report provided by structural engineers in 2013 stating that dangerous levels of corrosion had been found and that the bridge was beyond repair?
Could I also please receive a copy of the information used by Philippa Lagan in March 2014 to conclude the overbridge was structurally sound?

If you have any queries related to my requests, please contact me via email.

Yours faithfully,

Rutger Keijser

Luke, I have managed to download the engineering report ok (in Chrome on Windows). Can you try again? Make sure choose to download the PDF, not view as HTML (which is a bit hit and miss). If you still can't download it please email me on requests@fyi.org.nz and I'll try to help.
