Dear Accident Compensation Corporation,

Can you provide the following information in relation to Private Vehicles that are funded by ACC in relation to Transport for Independence (Section 81, and Schedule 1 Clause 21 to 22).

- The number of vehicles that are being used by claimants,

- The average age of those vehicles,

- The number of vehicles that ACC contributed to the purchase of in the last financial year,

- The average purchase cost of the those vehicles,

- The average cost of any adaptive modifications made to them for the claimant,

- The average length of time it takes from when a claimant is assessed as being eligible for assistance with a vehicle to when it is delivered,

- Any guidelines or other selection criteria for those vehicles, such as minimum safety rating, fuel economy etc; and

- The number of decisions relating to vehicle purchases under Transport for Independence that were disputed in the last financial year.

Can you provide the following information in relation to standard passenger vehicles that are leased and/or purchased by ACC to fulfill the operational requirements of the corporation, such as leased pool vehicles used by serious injury team staff.

- The number of private vehicles that are being used by claimants have have been funded or partially funded by ACC,

- The average age of those vehicles,

- The average annual operational and capital expenses associated with those vehicles; and

- The guidelines or other selection criteria for those vehicles, such as minimum safety rating, fuel economy etc.

the Official Information Act 1982.  You have asked for
information relating to client vehicles funded through ACC’s Transport of
Independence entitlement, and information relating vehicles purchased to
fulfil the Corporation's operational requirements.
