Dear Accident Compensation Corporation,
Does ACC have any diversity in its medical decision-making? In other words, while I am sure you have medical/GP advisors, do you also have any "alternative medicine" advisors involved in decision making, such as practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine, or chiropractors?
If not, how would diversity be introduced into the ACC scheme, internally, for medical decision making, to offer alternative viewpoints from within the organization?
Who decides the level of diversity in medical advisory panels at ACC, and how do they select medical advisors within the organization, to make judgement calls as to effectiveness of treatments?

This email is to acknowledge your request below asking for information
relating to alternative medicine advisors within ACC.
Your request has been referred to ACC's Government Services to respond
directly.
ACC is currently working on your request and will be in touch as soon as
possible.
You may be aware that the Official Information Act (OIA) states that ACC
has a maximum of 20 working days to respond to your request. Section 2
of the OIA notes that the days between 25 December and 15 January
(inclusive) are not included in the definition of "working days".
Therefore, as your email was received by ACC on
2 January 2014, ACC has until 13 February 2014 to respond.
