Christchurch Bus Exchange project
Louis Mayo made this Official Information request to Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority
The request was partially successful.
From: Louis Mayo
Dear Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority,
A recent announcement by CERA showed plans for the new Christchurch Central City Bus Exchange. I would like to see a copy of the Design Consultants Report (or similar document) justifying the logic of why this particular proposed design was chosen.
The information that I most want to obtain is:
(a) Why a 'sawtooth' system was chosen rather than a standard linear stop bearing in mind the additional space taken up and safety issues caused by 'sawtooth' bus stops;
(b) Whether future bus routing patterns, such as the network proposed in ECAN's 2012 Regional Public Transport Plan were considered when designing the project;
(c) Why car parking has been included in the project when the project's intention is to improve public transport and walking access.
This request is made under the Official Information Act and a prompt response would be appreciated.
Yours faithfully,
Louis Mayo
