Please provide the following information under the OIA for domestic UTAS and general category applicants to the Medical (MBChB) program at UoA for the last year's (2018, 2019, 2020) intake:

1. Number of first year seats available in SWD
2. Number of first years interviewed in SWD
3. Interview GPA cut off for first year SWD applicants
4. Lowest GPA for first year SWD applicants
5. Highest GPA for first year SWD applicants
6. Highest and lowest UCAT score of successful first year SWD applicants
7. Highest and lowest UCAT score of unsuccessful first year SWD applicants

I refer to your request for information about admissions in the UTAS
Disability admissions category to the University’s MBChB programme for
2018-2020. The University’s response follows.

 

“1. Number of first year seats available in SWD”

UTAS Disability - Available seats (includes FY and Grad combined):

2018 – 2

2019 – 2

2020 – 2

 

“2. Number of first years interviewed in SWD”

UTAS Disability – First year : Invited and Interviewed

2018 – 4

2019 – 4

2020 - 3

 

“3. Interview GPA cut off for first year SWD applicants”

UTAS Disability – First year : Interview GPA cut-off

2018 – 7

2019 – 6

2020 - 6.75

 

Parts 4-7 of your email are requests for the results of specific
applicants. The information requested is withheld under section 9(2)(a) of
the Official Information Act, to protect their privacy. Although the
University protects the privacy of specific applicants in larger
admissions categories by providing the data sought in the form of ranges
rather than as individual values, this step is not sufficient to protect
applicant privacy where the number of applicants/successful applicants is
very low (as it is in the case of UTAS Disability admissions category).

 

You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.
