How does ACC monitor social media

David Nicholas made this Official Information request to Accident Compensation Corporation

The request was refused by Accident Compensation Corporation.

From: David Nicholas

Dear Accident Compensation Corporation,
I seem to recall ACC appointing someone to a position which entailed them regularly checking websites for references to ACC.

1. Can you supply a summary of the activities of this position within ACC?

2. Can you supply information how ACC monitors Social Media i.e Facebook, Twitter, YouTube; blogging websites and bulletin boards i.e www.accfocus.org, www.accforum.org, www.accprotection.com

3. What software does ACC use to monitor Social Media i.e Facebook, Twitter, YouTube; blogging websites and bulletin boards i.e www.accfocus.org, www.accforum.org, www.accprotection.com.

4. Is the software used supplied by Intergen, which the Ministries of Health. Primary Industries and Justice are using?

Yours faithfully,

David Nicholas

Dear Mr Nicholas, I have attached a letter responding to your requests of
, 5, 10 and 15 February and  5 March 2014.

ACC needs an extra  40 working days to respond to your request as it
necessitates a search through a large quantity of information and meeting
the original time frame would unreasonably interfere with ACC's
operations. ACC also needs to carry out consultations before making a
decision on your request.

This extension complies with Section 15A of the Act.

Yours sincerely

Hugh McIlraith, Senior Advisor, ACC
ACC / Government Services / Justice Centre - Level 7
  PO Box 242 / Wellington 6011 / New Zealand / www.acc.co.nz

ACC cares about the environment – please don’t print this email
unless it is really necessary. Thank you.

ACC will provide the information if I pay $1900 up front and then pay an hourly rate for them to produce the information or I can modify the request.
