Dear John Luke,

We have been working on your request and we need to ask you a couple of
 questions.

It is very straight forward for us to provide  you with a spreadsheet that
lists the date the request was received, when the reply was sent back to
the requester, and whether the  request was extended.

However, because of the way the information is captured, providing you
with a title of each request and the length of the extension listed in
each extension letter requires significant manual work and is likely to
 require an extension.

In the case of the titles, many are also recorded with the name of the
requester and so the names need to be manually removed in order to protect
the privacy of the requester. For context there are nearly 1,100 requests
covered by your request. In the case of finding out the length of the
extension listed in the extension letter it requires to open up and view
 each extension letter.

If you could confirm your preference for either amending your request or
maintaining the original request that would be really appreciated. If we
don’t hear from you, we will assume that you don’t want your request
amended and we will consider a possible extension to allow enough time to
 prepare the response.

    Dear John Luke

Kāinga Ora - Homes and Communities is extending the timeframe for making a
decision on your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request, to 31 May
2021 (20 working days). This extension is made in accordance with section
15A(1)(a) of the OIA: the request is for a large quantity of official
information or necessitates a search through a large quantity of
information and meeting the original time limit would unreasonably
interfere with the operations of the department or the venture or the
Minister of the Crown or the organisation.

We will endeavour to respond to you as soon as possible within this
timeframe. You have the right to make a complaint to the Ombudsman about
the decision to extend the timeframe.

Kind regards
David Hammond
