Kia ora Grant,
Further to your Official Information Act request on the 18^th of November
2020, we are currently preparing a response but would like to clarify one
aspect with you. In your request you stated:
“Based on the official report, the NZ Climate Change Commission has been
appointed for a term of 5 years, with a weekly time commitment of 4 days a
week.
My request: What is the total budgeted cost assigned to the NZ Climate
Change Commission annually, and over the entire 5 year term?”
Our question is whether you are requesting the total cost for the Climate
Change Commission (the whole organisation) annually, or only the total
cost of the commissioners annually (the Directors fees)?
For the Climate Change Commission (whole organisation) the budget is
publicly available information, and can be found on page 50 of the
Treasury’s 2020 Vote Environment Budget Document:
[1]https://www.treasury.govt.nz/sites/defau...

$000 Estimated $000 Estimated $000
3,610 8,535

For the Annual directors’ fees the Commissioners are paid in line with the
Cabinet Office Fees Framework, pages 23 to 26:

The Climate Change Commission will also publish the total Director’s fees
amount in their upcoming 2020 Annual Report.
Please confirm which specific information you are seeking. Alternatively,
please advise us if this email has answered your request.
