Dear Tara

We refer to your request for information (copied below) received on 9 September 2020. We have treated this as a request for information under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA).

Under the OIA, we must decide your request as soon as reasonably practicable, and in any case not later than 7 October 2020, being 20 working days from our receipt of the request.

We can in certain circumstances extend the time limit for deciding a request for information, under section 15A of the OIA.

We have been working on your request but need to extend the deadline to decide your request to 29 October 2020.

The reason for the extension of time is that:
1. under section 15(1)(a) of the OIA, the request necessitates a search through a large quantity of information and meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere with our operations; and
2. under section 15A(1)(b) of the OIA, we need to undertake consultations necessary to make a decision on the request such that a proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.

We will advise you of our decision on your request by no later than 29 October 2020.

If you are not satisfied with our extension of time, you have the right to make a complaint to the Ombudsman under section 28(3) of the OIA. However, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss any concerns with you first.

Kind regards

Mayhaka
