Dear Radio New Zealand Limited,

One of the RNZ documents recently made available to the public is labelled: “Appendix one – RNZ Music Strategy - New Music Strategy implementation proposal Feb 2020”

Within the report there is this reference:
“In 2015, RNZ commissioned Nielsen to conduct Concert listener research, talking in depth to current, lapsed and prospective listeners to RNZ Concert with a view to understanding how to maximise programming for existing and prospective listeners.

In the workshop summary which followed this research, Nielsen included amongst its key audience observation themes…..”

Please provide me with all documents and communications relating to both this commissioned research and for the Workshop referred to above.
For the survey, this will include the detailed audience (current, lapsed and prospective) sampling criteria, description of methodology and survey scripts and/or questions. Also the number surveyed and response rates categorised by current, lapsed and prospective listeners.

For the survey and workshop, this will include terms of reference, statement of deliverables, agendas, minutes, correspondence, emails and memoranda. This will also include draft and final reports of both the survey and the workshop.

Your formal OIA request has been received by Radio New Zealand.    Under
the Official Information Act 1982,  we have 20 working days in which to
respond to you and I expect we will have our reply posted/emailed to your
address within that time.  If for some reason, such as leave commitments

information other than that which was released at :

What you seek would require extensive compilation and research for which
RNZ is simply not resourced.  In addition, we decline to provide a
breakdown of, or the source information you seek under s 9(2)(b(ii), 9
2(ba)(i), 9 2(g)(i)  and 9 2(i) of the Act which addresses the need to
protect the ongoing relationship with the suppliers of those research
services.

As we are required to do, this message is to also advise you that our
response to your request can be referred to the Ombudsman’s Office for
review under s 28 (3) of the Official Information Act if you wish.
