I understand from MOE's website that each school can have co-opted trustees

(source from the community, not part of staff or parents), May I ask if your school has any co-opted trustees in the past 15 years and are there any documents within your school or board meeting discuss about having co-opted trustees. Also, what is board's current view of having co-opted trustees and if this topic has not yet been discuss, may I ask you to table this topic to the next board meeting for discussion and provide me with the feedback. Q1: Has our school co-opted trustees in the past 15 years?

Freemans Bay School has co-opted trustees from time to time over the past
15 years.

 

Q2: Are there any documents within your school or board meeting discuss
about having co-opted trustees?

Please find attached the Freemans Bay School policy on the board structure
which indicates that co-option of Board members is possible.

 

Your request will be noted at our February Board of Trustees meeting.
