As I have not yet received any reply to my request and by law I should have had a response by the 14th January 2010, I am requesting that a response to my request to be given soon as possible.

I understand that the OIA may have had a working day "holiday" from 25th December to 15th January, but my request was prior to this date and to the New Zealand Police, so therefore a response from them not the OIA, I would have expected by the due date.

NZ Police are subject to the Official Information Act (OIA). You have made you request through a website for making OIA requests. You have made an OIA request to NZ Police.
Section 15 requires the department to respond to a request within 20 working days.
Section 2 of the OIA makes the following definition: “working day means any day of the week other than … a day in the period commencing with 25 December in any year and ending with 15 January in the following year”.
You made your request on 15 Dec — that’s 7 working days leading to the 24th. Then you have another 13 working days from 16 Jan giving you the 4th February.

Section 2 of the Official Information Act defines working days as:

(ab)
if Waitangi Day or Anzac Day falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, the following Monday; and

I understand that FYIs deadline calculator does not include the days listed in 2(b) as non-working days, and the site is therefore giving incorrect due dates. I have copied the FYI Admin team in so they can take a look. Hi,
Police are correct. We (FYI.org.nz) had not imported 2020 OIA holidays into our software, so the due date did not account for the OIA "Summer Holiday" up to 15 January. I've added 2020 dates now, but it the due date displayed above may not be recalculated immediately.

Actually, the OIA has a working day "holiday" from 25th December to 15th January. The deadline for response is something like 3rd Feb.
