I refer to your 18 October 2019 Official Information Act request asking
for information in relation to how ACC deals with malfeasance and
misfeasance. You request statistics going back 10 years.
In 2013, a review into ACC’s internal Integrity Unit (then named
Investigation Unit) took place. The review recommended that the Unit be
renamed Integrity Services and internal matter of fraud, waste and abuse
be managed by the unit. Prior to this internal concerns were managed on a
case by case basis and the reporting of those concerns was minimal.
Due to this, the likelihood is that the information prior to the 2013/2014
financial year cannot physically be made available without substantial
collation or research.
Can you please confirm if you are happy to receive figures for the last
five financial years? Can you please confirm this via return email by 12
November 2019.
