Regarding Assessment of Methamphetamine Screening Test Methodology
Screening test methodology distributed by MedNZ Limited, manufactured by M.M.C.
International B.V., and sold under the brand names Check4METH, Meth Rescue, Property
Meth Test, Property Ice Test, Screen for Meth, D.I.Y. Meth Screen, and Methamphetamine
Forensic Screening Test, was assessed by ESR against some of the criteria of the New
Zealand Standard for testing and decontamination of methamphetamine - contaminated
properties ( NZS 8510:2017 ) , Appendix B - validation of screening test methodology for
methamphetamine contamination. *
The screening test methodology reliably detects methamphetamine present on the common
household surfaces of glazed ceramic tile, painted plasterboard, painted wood and
polyurethane - coated wood # at a recoverable level above 1.5 μ g/ 100 cm 2 .

Refer to the full ESR Client Report No: FW18016 “MedNZ Limited – Assessment of Screening Test
Methodology for Methamphetamine Contamination”
# Please note that the performance of the screening test methodology was not assessed on concrete surfaces
as previous testing undertaken at ESR has shown that NIOSH standard sampling and analytical method gives
poor and inconsistent recovery of methamphetamine on contaminated concrete. It would be unfair to assess
the reliability of screening test methodologies against a method that was producing unreliable results.
