Dear New Zealand Police,
I am writing in response to the Official Information Request dated September 28, 2019 in which the following questions were asked.
Can you please supply me with what information is recorded by police either when recorded in the Firearms Search and Seizure database, or any other such database. Please list all required and optional fields on the database that are required or optional to be filled in by the data entry person.
Screen shots if web based or computer based, or scans of forms that are manually filled out are sufficient.
I did recieve a reply stating the request was being actioned on the 30th of September but have recieved no information since.
I understand the department has been busy, so I have provided an extra time period to provide you with time to fill this request, but I would like to remind you at this time of your lawful obligation to respond in a timely and prompt manor. As it has now been over 50 days I consider it an acceptable period for a response.
Failure to respond to this request will result in a complaint being made to the Ombudsmen under the Ombudsmen Act 1975.
Can I also just clarify, I am only seeking to see what information input fields are on the forms or database that are required to be filled in, or optional fields. A blank scanned form(s) if there are paper forms, or a screen shot(s) of a blank input screen showing the fields where information is inputted is sufficient, I am not seeking forms filled out with information in them.
Yours faithfully,
Ian McDonald
New Zealand Police

Your below request is under review and will be released to you once that
has been completed.
I will ask that it is reviewed urgently.
