Dear Ministry of Social Development,
The Social Housing Application Form States on page 9:
`You have the right to see and correct your information. Under the Privacy Act 1993 you have the right to see all information we hold about you, and ask us to correct that information'.
- I an requesting clarification as to whether the applicant has the right to *ask* to have mis-information corrected, or whether the applicant has the right to *actually have* mis-information corrected.
- If the applicant has the right to *actually have* mis-information corrected, then what is the proper process for this.
- Please can you also inform New Zealanders where they may obtain an application for Social Housing. For example, if they can fill out an application form, themselves, online, or collect a paper form, themselves, from their local office. Or is it the case that New Zealanders are expected to navigate a phone interview system only where phone interviewers repeatedly refuse to input information as stated by the client so the Social Housing Application is nullified.
