Resource consents for combustion discharges
Alex Harris made this Official Information request to Canterbury Regional Council
The request was successful.
From: Alex Harris
Dear Canterbury Regional Council,
The Canterbury Regional Council controls discharges of contaminants from large-scale fuel burning devices under Rules 7.20 - 7.30 of the Canterbury Air Regional Plan. Rule 7.20 allows most small-medium external combustion as a permitted activity, provided certain conditions are met. Rules 7.21 - 7.24 cover various failures to meet those conditions as discretionary or restricted discretionary activities. Rules 7.26 - 7.29 allow internal combustion for electricity generation as a permitted activity, with Rule 7.30 covering all other cases as a discretionary activity. I would like to request the following information under the LGOIMA:
* a list of all the resource consents in force for discharges from large-scale fuel burning devices under Rules 7.21 - 7.24 and 7.30 of the Canterbury Air Regional Plan. For each consent I would like the date of issue, date of expiry, the fuel source for the combustion, and the power in kW or MW (if known) or maximum combustion rate (e.g. in tonnes per hour, if known).
I would prefer to receive an electronic response. Queries about this request will be automatically forwarded to me by the fyi.org.nz website.
Yours faithfully,
Alex Harris
