Sophie made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police

The request was successful.

From: Sophie

Dear New Zealand Police,

Can you please provide me a list of all current static (fixed) safe speed camera locations in the Auckland Region before and on July 17th, 2019.

Please provide the locations in their longitudes & latitudes.

By law, everyone in New Zealand has the right to access information held by public bodies. Therefore, I would have the rights to know these facts.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,
Sophie

Dear New Zealand Police,

Before I lodged this question, I had done some research, so I had already read the webpage you sent (https://www.police.govt.nz/advice/drivin...).

If you look at the webpage, the pdf attached in that webpage only made 4 static safe speed cameras in Auckland Region known to the public, they are cameras at:
Ngapipi Road,
Tamaki Drive,
Hillsborough Road,
Great North Road.

Apparently, there are far more than 4 static speed cameras in Auckland Region. As far as I know, there are static speed cameras on streets such as Rata Street, which are not even mentioned in that pdf file on the webpage you sent us.

Also, if you have a look at this webpage just below the webpage you sent, which is also on the Police website, (https://www.police.govt.nz/advice/drivin...), there is something called the "Static camera expansion programme".
According to the article, it already says "The Static Camera Expansion Programme will expand the static safe speed camera fleet to 56 high crash risk locations across the road network."

Therefore, I don't think you have fully answered my question.
I am asking for "Longitudes and latitudes of ALL (yes ALL) static safe speed cameras in the Auckland Region", rather than just 4 of them.

I believe people at least have the rights of knowing those cameras' locations in accordance to the OIA, because eventually, money of those cameras' establishment comes from people who pay taxes in this country.
That's the reason why I am asking for "Longitudes and latitudes of ALL static (fixed) safe speed cameras in the Auckland Region".

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,
Sophie

Good morning

All static speed cameras operated by Police are included in the
information we make public and that has been sent to you. The Auckland
region is comprised of the Police Districts Waitemata, Counties Manakau,
and Auckland City. The Rata St camera you mention is listed in the
Waitemata section of the PDF. I have highlighted it in the attached for
you. The PDFs are searchable, so if you have a street or locality in mind
you can search the document for it using the search function in your
browser.

Please let me know if you have any more trouble.

Ngā mihi

Hi Sophie
I don't believe all the cameras are listed.
My wife or I have been ticketed in Abbots Way, Remuera: Red Beach Rd, Red Beach and Brightside Road, Stanmore Bay.

The (GPS) location of all cameras are clearly not listed in the suggested link provided by the NZ Police (https://www.police.govt.nz/sites/default...) as they do not match with the information located in the Static Speed Camera tab in the Road Policing Driver Offence Data spreadsheet (https://www.police.govt.nz/sites/default...).
