Alex Harris made this Official Information request to Minister Responsible for the GCSB

The request was refused by Minister Responsible for the GCSB.

From: Alex Harris

Dear Minister Responsible for the GCSB,

I would like to request the following information under the OIA:

* All your email headers for the last month. Note that I am not seeking the content of your emails, just the headers (talk to your IT geek if you do not know what this means; you'll need them to extract the headers into a useful format anyway).

To enable me to process the data, I would like this information in raw text format (again, talk to your IT geek). PDF or hardcopy are useless to me, and any attempt to send information in those formats will result in an immediate complaint to the Ombudsman.

Queries about this request will be automatically forwarded to me by the fyi.org.nz website.

With regards to s12 of the OIA, I am an NZ citizen and in NZ.

Yours faithfully,

Alex Harris

On behalf of the Prime Minister, Rt Hon John Key, thank you for your
email.

Please note that although email increases the speed of delivery, it may
not be possible to provide you with the rapid response users of email may
anticipate.

The fact that you have taken the time to write is appreciated.  You can be
assured that your views will be noted.

Yours sincerely

The Office of the Prime Minister

Dear Sarah Boyle,

Thanks for your response to my OIA request. In the interests of getting something rather than nothing, I'm willing to take headers for any of his Ministerial roles (GCSB/SIS, PM, Ministerial Service, Tourism), and to narrow the time period to a single day (say, July 17, to pick one at random). That should reduce the level of collation and research required substantially.

Yours sincerely,

Alex Harris
